The Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (MHTTC) Network

The purpose of the MHTTC Network is technology transfer - disseminating and implementing evidence-based practices for mental disorders into the field. Funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the MHTTC Network includes 10 Regional Centers, a National American Indian and Alaska Native Center, a National Hispanic and Latino Center, and a Network Coordinating Office.

Our collaborative network supports resource development and dissemination, training and technical assistance, and workforce development for the mental health field.  We use implementation science research to inform the training and TA that we provide, and that includes webinars, learning communities, online courses, face-to-face trainings - when possible, and conferences. We also develop products including fact sheets, curricula, and tools to help implement a specific mental health evidence-based practice. Furthermore, we work with systems, organizations, and treatment practitioners involved in the delivery of mental health services to strengthen their capacity to deliver effective evidence-based practices to individuals.

Through our School Mental Health Initiative, we are addressing the need for further implementation of mental health services in school systems. Learn more by visiting our website at www.mhttcnetwork.org.

The National Center for School Mental Health (NCSMH)

The mission of the NCSMH at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is to strengthen policies and programs in school mental health to improve learning and promote success for America's youth.

Through facilitation of Communities of Practice on School Mental Health Health, School Mental Health Collaboratives on Improvement and Innovation Networks (CoIINs), State Coalitions, and other learning collaboratives at local, district, state, regional, and national levels, the NCSMH analyzes diverse sources of information, develops and disseminates practical tools, issue and policy briefs, and promotes the utilization of knowledge and actions to advance successful, innovative, and sustainable school mental health policies, practices, and programs. In addition, the NCSMH works with a wide range of stakeholders invested in collaborative approaches to build a shared family-school-community mental health agenda to reduce barriers to student learning and promote improved student academic, and social-emotional-behavioral functioning.

The NCSMH is committed to strengthening our nation’s current health, education, and mental health staff as it relates to improving children’s mental health and wellbeing and promoting safe and supportive schools. The NCSMH is also focused on helping to build and strengthen the knowledge and skills of our future workforce through pre-service technical assistance and training opportunities.
